SL94 is the first test work from a new painting/collage series. This group is inspired from a work entitled By Way of the Newton B Dury from the Transport series. It uses cut out highway lines and other map elements to illustrate in a timeline-esque manner specific people and major events in my life. SL94 is part of a smaller test series of twenty-four pieces representing all the people I’ve had romantic relations with or feelings for. This group was conceived as a small-scale way to work out this method of working before embarking on a physically larger-scale series illustrating 12 major life events and relationships.
